The World Artistic Gymnastics 2023 has witnessed tremendous performances from all the entities. But one of the gymnasts that was on the highlight constantly was the US team’s Fred Richard. All the events he participated in was a show worth watching. Richard is an American gymnast with the titles of 2021 and 2022 secured for his name. Again, in the 2023 gymnastics championship, he shined bright and took the spotlight.

Fred Richard waved the US team’s flag high in the gymnastics championship 2023

Fred Richard is known for his commendable gymnastic skills, and in the Artistic championship he proved it too. The opening day has been of ups and downs for the US team. After having a hard time at the high bar, he showed the world what the US team is capable with his extraordinary performance on the floor.

The Gymnastics Now shared a video of him giving an ultimate natural performance on the floors. His swift double-backs made everyone gasp in awe. He started with a stuck 2.5 twisting double back, then went for a front double full to full, and then graced these moves with lovely flairs.

Then he gave a stuck double-double, 2.5 to front lay which was a half-in, half-out, and then a small hop. It ended with a routine and fist pump with a score of 14.500 which gave him the third position. However, the scores were analyzed, and then Richard was allotted a total of 14.600 pushing him to the second position. The others from the team also gave a commendable performance after facing trials and tribulations at the high bars.

The US team gave a phenomenal performance on the floors with Yul scoring 14.233, Paul scoring 13.933 and Asher Hong with 14.300. However, they did not have such a smooth time at the high bars. From Asher Hong to Khoi Young, each of them had to go through a difficult phase in this competition.

In his debut at the worlds, the high bars did not give a warm welcome to Khoi Young as he missed a layout Tkatchev. Following him was Asher Hong, who went the wrong way on a full Takamoto and then repeated it once again. It did not seem like they would make their way to the top positions. However, even after facing tough competition from Japan and Australia, the US, with its complete effort and sincerity, made its way to the second position.
