It’s not been long since Olympic star, Simone Biles had a controversial moment at Tokyo Olympics 2021. Regardless, putting the past behind, the ‘GOAT’ of gymnastics is back on the mat.

Simone faced a challenging time in Tokyo, withdrawing in the finals, citing mental health concerns. However, she is back in her natural habitat, living her forever dream of having her own tour. Overcoming the horrors of the mat from Japan, she is back to showcasing her perfect moves on the Gold Over America Tour.

Simone triumphs over her ‘Twisties’ problem

At the Summer Olympic Games this year, Biles was the favorite for gold. However, in the finals of the women’s team event, the world was stunned when Simone withdrew last minute. Later on, she informed her fellow teammates that she was facing the problem of ‘twisties’, and they instantly understood.

When gymnasts go against the odds of gravity and perform those splendid moves, sometimes in the course of it, they lose control. Olympic gymnastics star Simone faced something similar.

Simone and her all-female star cast have been trying to highlight the actual problems athletes face through their acts on the Gold Over America Tour. Before she stunned everyone with her graceful performance, Simone reflected upon the problem of twisties.

Simone said, “Waking up and realizing that my body and mind were not in synch was a really weird thing. But I would say if anybody goes through that, through work, gym, school, just take the break, say no, listen to yourself. ” 

After enlightening the audience with her experience, Simone was back on the mat, wowing fans with her moves. Notably, as Biles gracefully perfected her balance beam routine, she left the audience speechless.

Simone Biles’ Olympics journey

Young Simone competed at her first-ever mega games in Rio Olympics 2016. Notably, at her maiden quadrennial games, Biles brought home five Olympic medals in all the five events she entered. Interestingly, four out of her exceptional five were gold medals.

At her second innings, in Tokyo, Biles was the favorite to bag a spot on the podium. Unfortunately, things did not go according to what was predicted, as Biles had to withdraw at the last hour, citing her mental health concerns. Albeit, Biles, with her courage, competed in the women’s balance beam event and clinched the bronze medal.
