The day 2 of the 2023 World Artistic Gymnastics Championships ended on a great note for Team USA. Through two of ten subdivisions, the USA women’s squad powers through, claiming the top 2 spots in each of the apparatus. With this, the US women’s Gymnastics team shined brightly in Antwerp by clinching the first two positions on the all-around podium.

The 2nd day of the World Artistic Championships asserted every element of thrill to its spectators. Cheers erupted in the arena when Simone Biles claimed her beloved Yurchenko Double Pike to her name and concluded her day with the highest vault (15.266) and hence the all-around scores (58.865). More so, as the subdivision 2 of the Women’s qualifying day came to an end, Shilese Jones ruled the scoreboard alongside Simone Biles, and made USA stand on the top of the podium.

Team USA shined bright on day 2 of the World Artistic Gymnastics Championships

As the day 2 events ended, the team USA overall scores took the reins on the scoreboard with 171.395. The USA Gymnastics Now shared a post congratulating the US women’s team for their commendable performance on their X handle. They scored a total of an unbelievable 171.395 pushing everyone behind them. The caption carried, “What they did: that.”?

The women waved the USA’s flag high with pride by putting themselves in the spotlight. Simone Biles and Shilese Jones amassed a lot of attention with their performance in the vault, floor exercise, beam, and high bars.

Simone Biles’ prowess spoke for itself at the World Artistic 2023

Simone Biles came in at the World Artistic Gymnastics Championship and conquered it gracefully. She gave the crowd what it wanted. Biles became the first woman to do the Yurchenko double pike in the world championships on the 1st of October 2023. The entire crowd roared when she landed requiring only to take a step back to control her landing, and ended up with a score of 15.266.

This capped a brilliant day for the U.S. women with their names on the top with the highest scores. Team USA was the apparatus leader for five events after Women’s Subdivision 2, and four of them were covered by Simone Biles. She scored the highest at 14.949 in the vault, 14.566 for the Balance beam, 14.633 on the Floor, and 58.865 in the all-around group. The victory for the US team had Simone Biles written all over it.

Apart from Biles, Shilese Jones played a great role by scoring the highest in Uneven Bars at 14.833. It was a great day for the US gymnasts as the total scores in all the events were commendable.
