Recently, Rachael Blackmore became the first female jockey ever to win the Grand National Cup in the 182yr history of the sport. Biles took to Twitter to express her happiness for the equestrian and congratulate her on an amazing achievement.

“Congratulations on a sensational year, last year,” said Biles, “it’s wonderful to see women’s sports take such huge strides around the world and you’re an inspiration to many other girls who want to be a jockey or just to achieve their dreams.”

Rachael Blackmore’s Jockeying History

Blackmore is the daughter of a farmer and a teacher. Her first amateur race came in February of 2015. She then turned Pro in March, having ridden eleven point-to-point winners and seven winners as an amateur rider. Rachael also is the first woman ever to win the Champion Hurdle and Grand National. By winning the Cheltenham Gold Cup, she has added another feather to her cap. In 2021, she came close to winning the Gold Cup but came up short as she fell on the last corner, which left her feeling “horrendous.“

A winning machine on track, she is a shy, quiet entity as soon as she steps off the horse; Blackmore has become a major star far beyond her sport. She has cemented her position as one of the best jockeys of the generation.
