The most decorated gymnast celebrated her 25 birthday on March 14th with her future husband, Jonathan Owens. They went on a trip to Turks and Caicos for the celebration and are currently enjoying probably their last pre-marriage vacation together.

Simone Biles being penalized for an extraordinary performance

Imagine performing a perfect quad axel in figure skating and not receiving any points for it. Yes, it may sound ridiculous, but a similar thing happened with Simone Biles once. The Olympic champion once landed a perfect Yurchenko double pike in a competition. In fact, she is the only gymnast ever to perform this dangerous feat.

While she would have been rewarded a full score for such an amazing display, the judges gave her a 6.6, which actually feels like a penalty given the risk involved in the trick. However, the judges did so because Yurchenko double pike has a low starting score.

Biles, obviously furious by the judgment, said, ?I feel like now we just have to get what we get because there?s no point in putting up a fight because they?re not going to reward it. So we just have to take it and be quiet.?

Since their engagement on Valentine’s Day last month, Simone Biles and Jonathan Owens have become one of the most talked-about couples. Although their wedding date hasn’t been announced yet, it seems it’s not far away. The 25-year-old gymnast has even decided upon her wedding dress, which she shared on her Instagram handle.
