The New York Racing Association (NYRA) officials made a significant change to the Oct. 8 racing card at Belmont in response to weekend rainstorms. The originally scheduled turf race of the $150,000 Futurity Stakes was moved to the main track due to the inclement weather. This alteration resulted in the race being downgraded to listed stakes.

Book’em Danno, a New Jersey-bred horse racing for the colors of Atlantic Six Racing and trained by Derek Ryan, seized the opportunity in this changed setting. Book’em Danno demonstrated his talent with a remarkable performance, securing his third consecutive victory. The horse was piloted by jockey Jose Ortiz, who guided him brilliantly.

During the race, Book’em Danno tracked three wide behind the leaders, maintaining a strong position throughout. He made a decisive move in the stretch, making his way past Works for Me, the pacesetter. His smooth move ultimately made him win an impressive margin of 6 1/2 lengths. The final time for the six-furlong race on the main track was 1:09.47.
