In a poignant moment at the Strathalbyn Racecourse in South Australia, the exhilaration of the races turned to concern and sorrow. 21-year-old jockey Kelsey Hannan suffered a serious fall during a race on Sunday afternoon. Riding Iva Dream, Hannan had completed her race when an unfortunate incident unfolded. It caused the mare to clip another horse’s heels, ultimately throwing the young jockey over its head. The atmosphere at the Strathalbyn race meeting, featuring the eagerly awaited Strathalbyn Cup, drastically shifted as the distressing incident unfolded.
