The Bahrain International Trophy has been a piece de resistance in the horse racing industry. Owning to the grand stakes, the event has been a beacon to the global media and enthusiasts alike. Today, as the athletes gear up to take off, the Bahrain Turf Club puts on a glorious reminder of their brilliance yet again. This clarion call of winners who’ve graced the global podium is finally here to stay.

Horse racing community saddles up for insatiable glory

On the afternoon of the 17th of November, 14 horses from across 5 countries will gather up to race for a title at the budding horse racing event. With only a couple of hours left, the Bahrain Turf set out to remind the increased stakes of the Kingdom’s biggest occasion. “The 2023 Bahrain International Trophy is live this afternoon and transmitted by 22 broadcasters to over 110 countries! The race is off at (Bahrain) 03:05 PM, (Great Britain) 12:05 PM,” the Turf Club posted.

The trophy is said to entail at least six runners from the winner’s club of either Group 1 or Group 2. Horses from France, Great Britain, Ireland, and the United Arab Emirates will be joining the list to up the value. “The Bahrain International Trophy will once again receive significant exposure from broadcasters all around the world, including live coverage in India and Indonesia for the first time. We look forward to welcoming all the broadcasters and their audiences, both new and old, to what should be a fantastic day,” CEO Yusuf Buheji said. The opening edition of the Bahrain International Trophy was bagged by now-10-year-old Royal Julius. Trained by Jerome Reynier, the equine raced the 1 1/4 mile turf to stop the clock at 2:00.41. Following the grade stakes winner next year was 7-year-old gelding, Samsir. The champion left behind a global giant and sovereign to add a second career win to his name. Samsir recorded a time of 2:20.28. As for the third year, David O’Meara’s gelding, Lord Glitters, took the crown. An exceptional 2:01:91 on the board and the race was his.
