Every fan was on cloud nine, leading up to the 2015 Belmont Stakes. During the early days of social media, everyone was eagerly awaiting the Belmont Park race on television and in the newspapers. It had been 37 years since Affirmed won the Triple Crown in 1977, but American Pharoah’s previous promise may finally put an end to that wait. According to the video uploaded by History of Horse Racing on X, American Pharoah was prepared to do something remarkable at the start of the race with a record of six straight victories.

The horses bolted from their gates, but American Pharoah kept a prominent lead. At Belmont Park, the racehorse coached by Bob Baffert showed no signs of error and led the field in the first quarter. Until Frosted gave him a little run for his feat in the latter stretch of the race, the stallion maintained his advantage. The 37-year American Tripe Crown drought came to an end, nonetheless, as American Pharoah disappointed no one and raced like a wingless Pegasus. The admirers who treasured this moment on social media have not forgotten the stint, even though it is nearly 9 years old.
