The 2024 Northerly Stakes laid stake on Saturday, December 7th at the famed Ascot Racecourse. It left the horse racing world abuzz in awe over its thrilling end lap. Given the participation of Jarrad Noske, the accomplished jockey of horse riding once led the regal Black Caviar to victory in her nascent wins. Jarrad Noske wins with a flourish

Professional jockey Jarrad Noske arrived at Ascot Racecourse in an attempt to recapture the magic at G1 Northerly Stakes (1800m). World Horse Racing shared an exciting win announcement on X captioned, 𝑾𝒉𝒂𝒕 𝒂 𝒇𝒊𝒏𝒊𝒔𝒉! Jarrad Noske is best known for being the first rider of BLACK CAVIAR Today, he finally nabs his maiden G1 win on DOM TO SHOOT, edging out ZAAKI and ZIPAWAY to win the Northerly Stakes!

Dom To Shoot defeated strong rivals, including four-time Group 1-winning champion Zaaki, by charging home to win on the finishing post. An additional element of drama to the race was the presence of the three-year-old Zipaway in the winning frame. Since his memorable rides with Black Caviar, Jarrad Noske has not experienced a Group 1 victory prior. Interestingly, last year, Dom To Shoot finished third in the race when the race was known as the Kingston Town Classic and took ninth place. While the race highlights are worthwhile, the behind-the-scenes of the duo’s journey are quite interesting too.

The dirt ground victory highlights

Dom To Shoot’s victory in the Northerly Stakes not only secures a noteworthy accomplishment for father and son trainers Sean and Jake Casey—it’s their first Group 1 win—but it also adds a feather to Jarrad Noske’s cap. This victory has even more significance given the horse’s tough journey, which included a terrifying fall in the Perth Cup earlier in the race.
