Horse racing champion named after brave teen Cody

Cody, a visitor to the Godolphin Stables, formed a relationship with an unidentified colt who is now a two-time Breeders’ Cup champion by having the foal rest its head on his lap. Many of those onlookers who saw this genuine exchange were moved. Because of this, Cody’s Wish became the horse’s official name. This 5-year-old equine has already taken home two Breeders’ Cup titles.

Goldolphin’s tweet broke the devastating news of the loss of Cody. There was sadness, but his family took comfort in knowing they gave him a good life. Teenager Cody, who was about to turn 18 the next month, tragically died on his way back to Kentucky from Santa Anita.
