With wavering opinions on retirement, Frankie Dettori still had a year as glorious as ever. Starting from San Antonio Stakes to Champion Stakes, the famed jockey did not deter. On the 18th of December, Dettori took to his Instagram to post the most cherished moments of his 2023 season. Wide smiles, signature jumps, hugs, and celebrations overtook the post summing up the jockey’s year to the T. “2023,” he wrote adding a magical star beside and it couldn’t have been explained better. He started his year with a win at the San Antonio Stakes atop County Grammer. The growing list only gleamed as he added Dubai Turf. But what mattered more for Dettori was his runs on the British Grounds.

Earlier this year, the champion jockey announced that 2023 would be his last season before he moves to California for International Racing. In doing so, he added 2000 Guineas, a double at Epsom, the Long Distance Cup, and finally the Champions Stakes. However, what took the hat for Frankie Dettori was Queen Camilla unveiling a statue of him at Ascot while upping the Royal Ascot Gold Cup count to a ‘Golden Nine’. In the rush of cherishable moments and plans for Dettori’s future his post brought, fans couldn’t help but drop emotional notes.

While another showered praise stating, “Never born jockey like you….“
