A promising career and the unfortunate turn

Following an injury, Dr. Ryan Carpenter, a top equine surgeon, conducted an arthrodesis procedure on the horse, similar to one performed on Echo Zulu earlier. This process fused bones to ensure stability. Initially, the recovery seemed promising, yet complications arose post-surgery. Dr. Larry Bramlage, a pioneer in such surgeries, was consulted by Rood & Riddle Equine Hospital. After his assessment, the decision to euthanize Geaux Rocket Ride was made.

A Stellar horse racing career

A Candy Ride colt of OXO Equine with great talents in his racing days was named Geaux Rocket Ride. He won distinguished races such as the spectacular Haskell (G1) victory, finishing 1 3/4 lengths ahead of the Kentucky Derby winner Mage. He came second with only a short head in the G1 Pacific Classic. Geaux Rocket Ride had five starts, earning three wins, and two seconds, and totaling winnings amounting to $980,200.

The colt was born in Kentucky and was bought for $350,000 as a yearling at the Fasig- Tipton Kentucky July sale that took place earlier. As they posted on Thanksgiving again it showed that he is still remembered by the equestrian community.
