Followers of horse racing have enjoyed many exciting races during the 2024 season. Among the many racecourses that provide spectacular races is the famous Meydan Racecourse, which will play host to the March Dubai World Cup night. Before the night of the Dubai Cup, the Dubai Carnival hosts plenty of races, keeping up the lead-up to the major event. This week, the Meydan Racecourse will play host to the highly anticipated Dubai Trophy, a major event in the world of horse racing.

The participants in the Dubai Trophy are the focus of attention for all horse racing fans. The news that two-time Beverly winner Bombay Bazaar would be participating at the Meydan Racecourse has only added to the excitement. Although it is competing with other horses of similar age, the three-year-old gelding has its distinct qualities.

Hope for a Meydan Racecourse stint

This would be the first time Bombay Bazaar will race on a track in the Middle East. This horse has had a mixed career, including two consecutive victories at the prestigious Beverly Racecourse. However, with rider Tadhg O’Shea on the saddle, Bombay Bazaar would be looking forward to a great 2024 season debut. This is also the first time the horse will be running under the guidance of trainer Bhupat Seemar, as it was announced by Dubai Racing Club on X.

The footage of the horse’s Beverly stint was shared with the announcement by Dubai Racing Club. Even though the horse was running second-last until the penultimate turn of the race, the gelding maintained its speed the whole way. Bombay Bazaar came charging in from the outside to upset Fusterlandia in a nail-biter as the leader’s pace weakened. Watching his horse win for the second consecutive time was a monumental occasion for its former trainer, Richard Fahey. Having switched trainers, however, the 2024 campaign would be a whole different scenario for the equine.

The official entries for the Dubai Trophy

The Dubai Trophy is a highly talked-about event in the horse racing world. This is going to be one of the big races on the night of the Dubai Carnival, and it’s scheduled for horses who are three years old. The track condition will be determined by the weather on race night, since it is presently uncertain, according to the Emirates Racing Authority (ERA).

There were 13 participants, which is below the safety limit of 16. The formal announcement was made on the ERA website; however, just ten horses were left to compete in the next competition. On Friday night, during the Dubai Carnival, there will be a huge event, and the spectators are looking forward to the exciting sixth race.
