The story behind the post involves a time when a bunch of online trolls posted on her social media. The post carried some pretty rude comments, but it seems Spiteri has dealt with it. Like all good athletes, Spiteri clearly used that as motivation. She turned around and sniped back at them at just the right time.

Spiteri says in the video, “Some guys made a post talking all about how by the end of the season, ?I guarantee she will crawl home to mommy and daddy,?”; brandishing a printout of the post from the time as proof.

Unable to hold back her smile anymore, Spiteri points the camera to the post as she brings up the paper. ?I?ve waited 12 years to respond to this and now it?s finally the time, so: Dear guys who wrote this, I am not a ?stupid, ignorant, spoiled, trendy, blind, na?ve, helpless, little b****h,?” she says, triumphantly.

?Actually,? she adds, ?I?m an Olympian.??And just as if to punctuate her point, she crumbles the paper and tosses it through the rings.

The paper might as well have been a mic because Spiteri just dropped it like that. The athlete sure should be proud of herself for calling herself an Olympian, and it really shows. And with the games set to end in a few days, Spiteri will forever be acknowledged as one of the most lovable athletes to have taken the field.
