The London Olympics 2012 witnessed a spectacular affair

The Opening Ceremony of the London Olympics 2012 was held on 28th July. At the ceremony, all the royal members of the family were present, including Prince William. However, no one knew that the Queen herself would soon grace the occasion.

A very extraordinary video was soon put on display. The video followed James Bond, played by Daniel Craig as he arrived at the Buckingham Palace. He marched inside and greeted Her Majesty, The Queen.

“‘Good evening, Mr. Bond,” greeted the Queen. The duo then set right off for the London Olympics. They got into a helicopter and flew over the city. And soon, the real queen appeared at the opening ceremony along with the Late. Duke of Edinburgh. This affair was actually kept under a lot of secrecy by the officials involved.

In fact, the Queen herself said that she would only do this under one condition, that her family be unaware of it.

‘The Queen never told her family she was doing it. That was one of the stipulations, that she agreed to be part of it…,” revealed Sam Hunter. Hunter was then the ceremony’s production stage manager.

In addition, the former Prime Minister David Cameron’s Cabinet was also unaware of this. There were only a few select people involved in this extraordinary show and James Bond was at the center of it all.

A one of a kind entrance

Never before did anyone think that The Queen of England would make an entrance with the ultimate spy, James Bond. In the final moments before her arrival, two stuntmen disguised as Bond and The Queen jumped off from the helicopter with parachutes over the stadium.

By this time, the crowd was already shocked. They cried out in joy as the camera showed Queen Elizabeth entering the stadium. To make things more believable, she was dressed in the same outfit that the stuntman was in. All in all, the Queen put on a show that would be the highlight of the London 2012 Olympics.
