The realm of sports is going to witness a grand experience with the upcoming Olympics. But the sprinkle of excitement is all over the place, as each day passes by with news creating anticipation for the 2024 Paris Olympics among the fans. The USA Olympic Marathon Qualifiers brought another moment along that line. And one Minnesota native secured a berth in the Paris Olympics from that event.

Dakotah Lindwurm secured a third-place finish in the qualifiers in Orlando behind Fiona O’Keefee and Emily Sisson. The sprinter who has two Grandma’s Marathon wins in her kitty, soaked in glory after the win. A social media post showcased her emotions for her country.

Dakotah Lindwurm can not get over the Paris 2024 Olympics entry

The official Twitter page of FloTrack posted a clip of Dakotah Lindwurm on its official X handle with the caption, “I can’t tell you how many times I’ve pictured holding this American flag and I don’t know if I’m ever going to take it off.” In the interview, she said, “I can’t tell you how many times I’ve pictured holding this American flag,” which showcases her commitment and motivation to fulfill the dream of holding it a thousand times.

On Saturday, Lindwurm continued to finish her streak with a time frame of 2:25:31 after clinching the third position at the event. The runner covered around 20 miles to drop off Betsy Saina, Sara Hall, and Eily Durgin and managed to secure the position. When she said, “Dreamed of It a Thousand Times,” she chose to fulfill it.

Several other runners, like Conner Mantz, Fiona O’Keeffe, Leonard Korir, Galen Rupp, and Emily Sisson, have also punched the ticket for the most anticipated event of this year. However, Lindwurm was sure of the performance she was about to deliver, as she shared with the WDIO, “I knew I could carry this flag on my shoulders and represent this country, and here we are.” And it is not without reasons that she could have that confidence.

Continued success culminated in the ultimate triumph

This is not the first time she has left her footprints on the marathon track, followed by a win. In 2021, Lindwurm was the first Minnesota woman to win Grandma’s since 1987, She secured the top place in 2 hours, 29 minutes, 4 seconds. That was not all.

The Northern State product once again reiterated her success in the Grandma’s in 2022. She defended her title and did so more than four minutes faster than the year before.  The petite powerhouse is an unstoppable force who has also run as a Puma-sponsored athlete at the Puma Deviate Elite. Besides her full-time job as a paralegal, she trains for around 105 miles per week. It remains to be seen how she take her glory in the Olympic qualifiers forward in the Parisian Arena.
