The New York City Marathon 2023 has officially been wrapped up and was an exhilarating experience. This was the 53rd version of the marathon, which took place on the 5th of November 2023. This was the final of the six Marathon Majors of the 2023 season, with supreme runners starting their best to gird up for the upcoming Paris Olympics in 2024.

In the immense crowd that joined the marathon, from stellar performances to unpleasant experiences, everything was seen. It was an event filled with interesting circumstances and new experiences. This event, with its vast sea of runners, has a smorgasbord amount of figures and must be information privy to every Marathon enthusiast. The crunched numbers of the New York City Marathon 2023

The NYC Marathon is one of the biggest sporting events in the country and witnesses hysterical swathes of people every year. The excitement level this year was on another level with celebrity faces, innovative clothing, and so much more. This event was an interesting one and has a number of facts and information that attribute to the success of the event.

One of the most important facts that marked the success of the Marathon is the number of participants. Around 51,933 people graced the Marathon with their presence and ran the race of 26.2 miles. With this, another fact is that from 51,933 finishers around 51,402 people finished the race, which made this Marathon the third largest edition of the race in the event’s history.

Amongst the finishers, 28,501 were men’s finishers and 22,8807 were women’s finishers. The rest 94 were non-binary finishers and amongst the entire number around 16,748 participants were international finishers. Another fast fact about this Marathon is that here 148 countries represented themselves. It was an extremely blissful experience with a vast range of audience and so many players with immense passion and adding a core memory of their loves.

The stellar performers as well as results of the NYC Marathon 2023?

The New York City Marathon 2023 made space in everyone’s hearts with its multiple unique elements and the huge turnout. In the women’s section of the event, Kenya’s Hellen Obiri defended her title and nabbed the win once again by finishing the race in 2:27:23. In the second position was Letesenbet Gidey from Ethiopia, who finished the race in 2:27:29. Following her was Sharon Lokedi, in the third position at the time of 2:27:33.

In the men’s section, Ethiopia’s Tamirat Tola attained the first position with a time of 2:04:58, and this is his first Marathon Major, mind you. In the second position was Kenya’s Albert Korir with a time 2:06:57 and in the third position was Shura Kitata from Ethiopia with a time of 2:07:11. This event was bursting at the seams with talent, promise, limitless potential, and overwhelming records. The Marathon enthusiasts are now eagerly waiting to witness the next Marathon. The next one will be an even bigger profusion of colours, races, events and participants under the same roof.
