Despite Being 5’8” Tall, Chuck Norris Once Revealed How Bruce Lee Was ‘Incredibly Strong for His Size’

The world recognized the strength and conviction in Bruce Lee’s acting. It’s not that Bruce Lee was the only martial artist turned actor in the world. Many existed during his time and after him as well. However, none refused to recognize the magic that Bruce Lee cast with his performance. One of them is martial artist, political personality, and actor Chuck Norris. He once explain how Lee was different from everyone.

Bruce Lee deserves great credit for bridging the gap between east and west through his martial-art based films. He was the inception of popularizing martial art-based cinema globally. Lee’s stardom was so insane that his fans even copied his behavior and style of performing martial arts.

When Chuck Norris candidly described Bruce Lee

After serving a proud career in the United States Air Force, Chuck Norris won many martial arts championships with his training in Tang Soo Do, Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, and judo. Later, he began training celebrities in martial arts in Hollywood. During this time, he became great friends with Bruce Lee. Chuck spent ample time with Lee in films and at other gatherings. He got to know him very closely due to the close association at work.

In the process, he realized the mettle of Bruce Lee’s talent. In an interview with Black Belt in 2022, Chuck shared his thoughts on Lee. He said, The truth is Lee was a formidable opponent with a chiseled physique and technique. I totally enjoyed sparring and just spending time with him. He was as charismatic and friendly in the ring and at home as he was on film. His confidence and wit were dazzling, and sometimes even debilitating to others. […] Lee was lightning fast, very agile, and incredibly strong for his size.”

Chuck Norris worked with Bruce Lee in the iconic film  Way of the Dragon (1972) playing the main villain. The film was a great success. However, a rumor that still persists today about the shooting of the film is — Lee and Norris fought during the shoot and no one knows who won it.

Bruce was blamed for disrespecting stuntmen

People had several negative and positive things to say about Bruce Lee after his death in 1973. Till today, many people talk about him. In 2019, director Quentin Tarantino stated in an interview with Joe Rogan, that the star actor misbehaved with stuntmen on his film Once Upon a Time in Hollywood set.

However, many people like Lee’s biography writer Matthew Polly and daughter Shannon Lee nullified Tarantino’s claims. In fact, Shannon openly stated that the director must apologize for his statement.
