In 2015, Chan’s daughter with Hong Kong’s beauty queen Elaine Ng got candid about the star in an interview with Express UK. Etta Ng talked about her perception of her biological father and her bond with her mother. While she identified Chan and his work in the film industry, she was far from accepting him as kin.

Etta’s distance from Jackie Chan came with rough edges

When the martial arts star publicly admitted to his mistake of cheating on his wife, fans had mixed reactions. However, one person who refused to acknowledge his relationship with Chan was his daughter, Etta Ng. Chan’s affair with Miss Asia 1990, Elaine Ng, was brief. However, in 1999, Elaine announced the birth of her daughter, Etta, and her relationship with Chan.

Chan admitted to the affair and came under a harsh spotlight. When Etta addressed the entire situation in her interview, she seemed indifferent toward the Hollywood star. Chan split with her mother a year after her birth, and Etta never grew attached to him. In fact, she pointed out how she never saw him as a father.

“He is not my dad. I have no feelings for him. He is my biological father but he is not in my life”, she stated. Growing up in Switzerland, Etta later went on to have an estranged relationship with her mother as well. Since her estrangement from her parental figures, Etta made headlines when she married her Canadian girlfriend, Andi Autumn, in 2018. However, her mother, Elaine, was reportedly against this union.

Etta has often been vocal about their rocky relationship and once even refused to go home for the Lunar year due to the estrangement.
