Mookie Betts scored two home runs on April 22nd, 2022, as the Los Angeles Dodgers faced the San Diego Padres at Petco Park, California. The Dodgers ended up defeating the Padres in a 6-1 dominance. The Dodgers now have a comfortable lead as they top the NL West Division after this win on Friday.

The Dodgers’ right fielder scored two home runs against the San Diego Padres, which helped the Dodgers to win comfortably. Friday’s 6-1 win was vital as the Dodgers now lead the NL West Division with 10 wins and just 3 losses to their name. With home runs by Max Muncy, Freddie Freeman, Trea Turner, and Mookie Betts, fans could see the original Dodgers, the superior Dodgers. Mookie Betts scored two home runs on Friday

In the 5th inning on Friday, Mookie Betts faced Nick Martinez. Betts hit the 85mph ball into the deep left field to score his first home run of the MLB 2022 season. The Dodgers fans on the upper deck were delighted to watch the ball soar towards them, hit by their favorite Dodger. This home run tied the game 1-1 as the Dodgers looked to extend the lead. Then in the 9th Inning of the night, Betts faced Craig Stammen when the Dodgers led 5-1. Betts hit the ball once again to the deep left field to score his second home run. Padres’ Jurickson Profar could just watch the ball go over his head and into the crowd. Betts took the score to 6-1 which eventually became the final score of the game.

After the game, Dodgers reporter Kirsten Watson conducted a post-match interview with Betts. During the interview, Betts said, “Tonight was super special. I’ve been grinding since Spring Training. Just to know I can do it, reassurance always helps. I’ve been working hard, a lot. It’s like a sigh of relief.”
