Albert Pujols and Adam Wainwright’s Stellar Performances Guide St. Louis Cardinals to Win Over Miami Marlins

Ever since he arrived at the St. Louis Cardinals, Albert Pujols has been incredible for the Redbirds. With each game passing, Pujols is only getting better at his game. Especially with Pujols by their side, the Cardinals have been rock solid this season.

Notably, Albert Pujols is in the last days of his playing career. But the Cardinals slugger is still running the show in the ballpark. With over 20 years of experience in Major League Baseball, Pujols has been consistent throughout his entire career.

At 42, the Cardinals legend is probably playing his last season in MLB. And if things go his way, Pujols might have a few records on his name by the end of the 2022 season. Coming to the game, Pujols, along with the Cardinals’ ace Adam Wainwright, led them to a convincing win against the Miami Marlins.

The St. Louis Cardinals ran riot against the Miami Marlins on Tuesday. Be it from the plate or the mound, the Cardinals’ players were outstanding against the Marlins. While pitching, the Cardinals ace, Adam Wainwright, stole the show with six strikeouts and just two walks in 5 2/3 inning.

Pujols, on the other hand, also had a brilliant night against the Marlins. He had two hits and scored twice as the Cardinals cruised past the Marlins by 5-1 on Tuesday. Talking about the Pujols game, Wainwright said that watching him bat was a wonderful experience.

“That was amazing,” Adam Wainwright said. “That’s one of those moments you’ve got to enjoy. From my standpoint, I kind of unlocked for a second just to laugh and be a part of that.”

With 3308 hits and 681 home runs, Pujols is already one of the greatest ever to play the game. But given the season has just started, he has an excellent opportunity to enter the 700 home runs club. As of now, only Babe Ruth, Barry Bonds, and Henry Aaron are the only members of the 700 home runs club.
