Breaking: Carlos Correa Signs for Minnesota Twins, Shocking New York Yankees and Chicago Cubs

Just a few weeks before the Opening Day of the regular season, free agent Carlos Correa has shocked everyone with his new deal. Notably, Correa and Freddie Freeman were two of the top free agents in MLB. And days after Freeman signed with the LA Dodgers, Correa has also chosen his new home.

If reports are true, then the former Astros shortstop has agreed to a deal with the Minnesota Twins. And with this news, every baseball pundit is in utter disbelieve. Because ever since the re-opening of the free agency, some of the top teams like the Yankees and Cubs were the favorites to sign Correa.

But, now after Correa has reportedly signed with the Minnesota Twins, he has become one of the highest-paid infielders of Major League Baseball.

Amidst the rumors of the Yankees and Cubs being favorites to sign Carlos Correa, the Twins have emerged as the real winners. Shockingly, just a few days ahead of the 2022 season, former Astros shortstop Carlos Correa has reportedly signed a three-year deal with the Twins for a whopping $105.3 million.

Taking to his Twitter, MLB’s top MLB insider, Mark Berman, reported that free-agent shortstop, Correa, has an agreement with the Twins on a three-year deal worth $105.3 million. And with this deal, Correa will have the highest average annual value for an MLB infielder.

However, even after signing for three years with the Twins, Correa has the advantage of opt-out in the first two years of his contract. As per Mark Berman, Correa has an option to opt-out in his first and second seasons.

“Free-agent shortstop Carlos Correa has reached an agreement with the Minnesota Twins on a three-year deal worth $105.3 million with opt-outs after the first two years. Highest average annual value for an MLB infielder,” tweeted Berman.
