Alex ‘A-Rod’ Rodriguez may have retired in 2016, but his records in MLB stand tall. With the hitter being a core performer for the Seattle Mariners, Texas Rangers as well as the New York Yankees over the course of his career, he has racked up some significant numbers.

When Miguel Cabrera made contact with a pitch to send it into right-field and record his 3000th hit, A-Rod was only too glad to welcome him to the club. He even took to Instagram to mark Cabrera’s achievement.

Alex Rodriguez remains a part of the sport both as a sportscaster as well a commentator. And having been a part of the game, A-Rod will appreciate the milestone perhaps even a bit more than any other fan.

He knows the effort to be put in to get to that level of achievement and he showed his appreciation on his own social media.

Alex ‘A-Rod’ Rodriguez wishes Miguel Cabrera on achievement

A-Rod took to his personal Instagram to wish the Detroit Tigers star on his accomplishment. Posting a graphic of the top 5 MLB players with 3000 hits, Rodriguez seemed glad to feature on the list but was happiest about his compatriot getting the mark against his name.

Posting a story, A-Rod congratulated Cabrera. Wrote A-Rod, “Congrats to my brother Miguel Cabrera on joining the 3k hit club. One of the best hitters ever.”

Cabrera became only the 7th player to accomplish a unique feat. While getting to 3000 hits he has also smashed more than 500 home runs, making him only the 7th player in MLB history to reach the mark.

Miguel Cabrera’s praise will continue through most of the day today, and deservedly so. But he has always been a team man and his attention will now likely turn to capture the pennant with the Detroit Tigers.
