“Do Not Want to Be Part of That SH*T”- CC Sabathia Shut Down New York Yankees Pitcher Who Wished Miguel Cabrera to Get His 3000th Hit Against Him

Detroit Tigers veteran slugger Miguel Cabrera smashed his record-breaking 3000th hit against the Colorado Rockies on April 23. However, he could have achieved this feat against the New York Yankees. But the Yankees’ manager Aaron Boone decided to intentionally walk the Tigers slugger, and Cabrera failed to achieve the feat against the Yankees.
Aaron Boone even received some harsh criticism for intentionally walking Cabrera and not letting him get his 3000th hit. However, a New York Yankees pitcher, who also happens to be a fan of Cabrera, would not have minded Cabrera getting his 3000th hit against the Yankees.

With his 3000th hit in Major League Baseball, Cabrera became one of the very few players to have 500+ home runs and 3000+ hits. Notably, apart from Albert Pujols, Cabrera is the only active player in the league to smash 3000 hits. Recently, a Yankees’ pitcher revealed that he kind of wished Cabrera to hit against him to achieve his record.
Miguel Cabrera is a childhood favorite of the New York Yankees pitcher Nestor Cortes Jr.
In the three-game series against the New York Yankees, the Tigers’ fans hoped Cabrera to get his 3000th hit and celebrate it in the Comerica Park. But little did they know about the mind games of Aaron Boone.
Recently, while speaking to the R2C2 podcast, the Yankees pitcher revealed that he would have been okay with his childhood favorite Miguel Cabrera picking up his 3000th hit against him. “I kind of said to myself. If I was pitching and he had 2999. And I am like, man, I am throwing a hitter right down the middle,” said Cortes Jr.

Meanwhile, the Yankees legend CC Sabathia expressed that he also did not want Cabrera to hit it against the Pinstripes, as a Yankee would not want to see that highlight of Cabrera doing it against the Pinstripes.
“No, you do not want to be a part of that, bro, absolutely not…,” said CC Sabathia. “You do not want to be part of that sh*t bro. You do not want to see that highlight over and over again…”
