Seems like the New York Yankees are back on track. After losing the series against the Baltimore Orioles, the Yankees made a statement comeback. With key players like Aaron Judge and Anthony Rizzo, and Joey Gallo performing their best, the Pinstripes are playing well after their Orioles’ defeat.

The Yankees have been playing as a well-connected team this season. In every game, they have a different hero to win the game. Sometimes it is Aaron Judge and Joey Gallo, while sometimes, Anthony Rizzo and Gerrit Cole have done it for their team.

However, this time, it was Rizzo’s turn to play the hero. And he did it in style. The Yankees star first baseman hit three home runs for the first time in his MLB career. Rizzo’s individual brilliance led the Yankees to win the first game of the series against the Baltimore Orioles.

Anthony Rizzo stole the limelight on Aaron Judge’s birthday

Very few people knew that Aaron Judge was celebrating his 30th birthday on April 26. And in the first game against the Orioles, Rizzo probably gave him the best birthday present and took his team home. Notably, the Yankees won the game 12-8 against the Baltimore Orioles.

Talking about his game, Rizzo said that he will never forget this day. Because hitting three home runs in a single game is very difficult for any player. “It’s a game that I’ll never forget. Obviously a first-time game. A curtain call here at Yankee Stadium is special,” said Rizzo.

Though Aaron Judge was celebrating his 30th birthday, he also hammered a solo home run in the game. Judge also became the only third Yankee to smash at least one home run on their 30the birthday. Before him, only Lou Gehrig and Jerry Mumphrey have done this.

The Yankees are currently on a four-game winning streak. Considering their next two games are against the Orioles, it will not be a surprise if the Yankees extend their streak for a couple of more games this season.
