With MLB teams reassembling for spring training, team bonding was an obvious factor to be tested. And the New York Yankees all seem to be getting along just fine. In a recently posted video, the current Yankees roster takes a gander at which teammate they would never trust with babysitting responsibilities. And while the majority of answers may appear to skew a certain way, there were some surprises too.

The New York Yankees are an institution. With the team harboring 27 championships, any year that goes by without the team winning is a year lost on the franchise. And this year they seem prepared to make a deep post-season run. And it seems at least one piece of the puzzle is there and intact. Team chemistry, everyone seems to be in light spirits and willing to take on the suggestion in merry spirits. Although if that is down to each other or just the return of baseball remains to be seen.

New York Yankees rate each other as Babysitters

A variety of the Yankees roster took to rating each other if they were babysitters and while some seemed to be relatively expected, some players’ answers were straight up a surprise to those watching. Tweeted from the official New York Yankees handle, here’s an inside look at the roster.

The initial reactions of several players were either sheepish or eager. With players like Cole, starting strong by stating that “there was a couple of them” in the team. Aaron Judge, the Yankees’ right fielder, just sheepishly smiled, uncertain of revealing any details to the media. Some players appeared to be nervous too. Said one player, “better not pick someone who already has kids.”

Some players though were fairly forthcoming with their responses. Some were relatively quick to point out that they thought center fielder Aaron Hicks would be the worst babysitter from amongst the Yankees. And with one even pointing out that he was going to be a father soon, perhaps there need to be some arrangements made.

But the focus quickly turned to Gleyber Torres as turning out to be the consensus choice for a bad babysitter. With a majority of the players picking him out because of his habit of “playing video games.” Gleyber Torres however, seems to have been okay with the pick explaining his reasoning behind his pick

A surprise pick in the bunch seemed to be Gerrit Cole. The explanation however seemed to more than makeup. As the player explained he only put forward Cole’s name because of how endearing he is. Said the player, “Not that he’s not responsible, just that he’d somehow turn my kids against me by the time I came home.”
