“Hell of a Player”- Boston Red Sox Star Kike Hernandez Describes Trevor Story as a ‘Solid Shortstop’

After being quiet in the first week of the free agency, Boston Red Sox has finally signed a free agent. And it’s none other than Trevor Story, who is one of the best shortstops in Major League Baseball. After this news, Red Sox’s star Kike Hernandez is more than excited to play alongside Trevor Story.

Now, with star shortstop Trevor Story by their side, the Boston Red Sox might be serious challengers for this year’s titles. And another Red Sox star, Kike Hernandez, has only good things to say about his new teammate.

Kike agreed with the fact that Story is a hell of a player and will play a crucial role in the next season of Major League Baseball.

Notably, Trevor Story is one of the best shortstops in MLB. Before signing with the Red Sox, the New York Yankees and Texas Rangers were also in the race to sign him. But in the end, Story chose Boston as his new home for the next few years. He signed a six-year deal worth $140 million with the Red Sox.

After this deal, another Red Sox player, Kike Hernandez, is elated to play with Trevor Story. According to Marly Rivera of ESPN, Kike described Story as a solid shortstop and said he looks forward to playing with him. He also discussed the skills that Stroy possesses as a shortstop.

“Hell of a player. He’s an elite bat,” Kike Hernandez said. “Not a lot of HR hitters go out there and steal 30 bags, and I know that he has the ability to do that as well. And we don’t have that many guys in our lineup that can do that.”

“Not just his bat, but his baserunning is going to help us a lot. And he’s a solid shortstop. If he comes here, I think he’ll play second base. So, I’d be more than willing to help him transition there,” added Kike Hernandez.
