Things have been pretty smooth as of late between third baseman Josh Donaldson and pitcher Gerrit Cole, who play for the New York Yankees. Cole has been associated with the Yankees since December 2019, whereas Donaldson signed with the Yankees in March 2022. Their long-term rivalry seemed to get cooled down since becoming teammates.
A situation no one ever dreamed of has been happening in the New York Yankees camp. Arch-rivals Josh Donaldson and Gerrit Cole are now rival-turned-teammates, as the Yankees signed Donaldson recently. The duo has a long history of allegations, disputes, and criticism being flung around on both sides. They have apparently sorted the disputes under the watch of manager Aaron Boone in his office, which is located in George M. Steinbrenner Field in Florida.

The Yankees signed pitcher Gerrit Cole in December 2019 for a 9-year, $324 M contract. New York Yankees stars have sorted out their disputes
Josh Donaldson spoke at the R2C2 podcast which was hosted by Ryan Ruocco and former MLB star CC Sabathia.
“We’re boys. I love baseball. Gerrit (Cole) loves baseball. He loves to talk baseball. So do I. At the end of the day, we’re going to have conversations, which is cool.”
“Obviously, he’s going to have certain feelings toward me. I want to hear him out. I want him to hear me out,” stated Donaldson during the podcast. When asked about the meeting which took place at Yankees’ manager Aaron Boone’s office, Donaldson said, “After the meeting, it was over.” [h.t nj.com]

This sort of resolution is exactly what a strong team needs. Disputes happen when you play against one another in sports. But once you start playing together, one has to let go of the past. On the other hand, manager Aaron Boone will not let anything happen between them as well as the entire Yankees club.
The Yankees are part of one of the toughest divisions in the MLB right now, which is the AL East Division, which includes the Blue Jays, the Rays, the Red Sox, and the Orioles. Currently, the Yankees are third in the division with 3 wins and 3 losses.
