Max Scherzer finally played his first league game for the New York Mets in the ongoing season. As always, the veteran pitcher was elegant in the ballpark. At 37, Scherzer is only getting better with his game. And his recent game was an example of his greatness.

Scherzer’s debut for the Mets was not the only highlight of MLB. But in the same game, he also faced his former teammate and young superstar Juan Soto. Notably, the two have always shared a good relationship, be it on the field or off the field.

“You want to face the best you know… This is round one,” Scherzer said. “It gets fun a few more times down the road when we’ve gotten to see how he hits against all of my pitches.
