“Holy SH*T!”- Brawl Triggered in Minor League Game as Wayward Pitch Forces Dugouts Into Fistfight

Minor League Baseball games have been getting more attention lately. Earlier this year, when Major League Baseball (MLB) was in the lockout, these minor league baseball games provided the best entertainment any baseball fan could have asked for.

Although Major League Baseball is up and running, the minor league games have been on a different level. Recently, in a minor league game between the Portland Sea Dogs and Binghamton Rumble Ponies, the two sides clashed in a massive brawl in the ballpark.

Though brawls have also become a huge part of the game, the clash between the Sea Dogs and Rumble Ponies was too much to handle for a baseball game. The incident took place when a Sea Dogs batter got hit by a pitch at the plate.

Massive Brawl breaks out after batter hit by pitch between Portland Sea Dogs and Binghamton Rumble Ponies

The Portland Sea Dogs and Binghamton Rumble Ponies played a Double-A minor league baseball game on Thursday. At once, the Rumble Ponies were leading 3-1 against the Sea Dogs till the third inning. The Sea Dogs’ first baseman and the Boston Red Sox prospect Tyreque Reed got hit by a wayward pitch from the Rumble Ponies pitcher Marcel Renteria.

After getting hit by a pitch from the Rumble Ponies ace, the Red Sox prospect Tyreque Reed exchanged words with Renteria. And things got ugly when he engaged in a heated conversation with Renteria. After this, the two sides immersed in a bench-clearing brawl amidst the game in the ballpark.

The video of the incident is going viral on the internet. Taking to Twitter, Jared Carrabis shared a one and half minute-long clip. In the video, one can see how the brawl started in the game. Carrabis captioned the video “We got a legit BRAWL at the Sea Dogs game. Holy sh*t.”

Notably, the Binghamton Rumble Ponies and the Portland Sea Dogs are the Double-A affiliate teams of the MLB sides, the New York Mets and Boston Red Sox, respectively.
