Recently, Judge’s teammate Joey Gallo and DJ LeMahieu heaped praise on Aaron Judge. They called him the captain of the New York Yankees.

Aaron Judge is already a captain for his Yankees teammates

Ever since the retirement of MLB legend Derek Jeter, no player has got the liberty of being the captain of the New York Yankees. Yes, the Yankees do not have any official captain for their squad since 2014. However, the current Yankees players consider Aaron Judge as their captain.

Recently, the Yankees sluggers Joey Gallo and DJ LeMahieu heaped some high praise on Aaron Judge and explained why he is the perfect leader of the side. Gallo said that he feels honored to play alongside Judge. Talking to YES Network, Gallo also revealed that he and other teammates look up to Judge.

“He is just a big guy. He is lucky and talented,” Joey Gallo said. “The guy works like, I’ve never seen anyone…He is definitely the captain of the team and everything goes through that guy. I am really honored to be on that guy’s team. You can feel that he is a special player… I looked up to him a lot and I think a lot of our teammates also do.”

Not to forget that Aaron Judge will be out of the contract after the 2022 season. Though the Yankees did offer him a renewal, Judge refused and instead preferred to go into the free agency.

Considering this might be the last season Aaron Judge plays for the Yankees, he will probably give his best to win at least the league title this season.
