The trade saga of Carlos Correa has gone on to dominate the conversation in the 2022 off-season. And with several teams seemingly the right fit for the superstar shortstop; it is seeming more and more likely that Correa may look for a change in scenery. Carlos Correa has put himself in a place to enjoy the benefits of a mega-contract in the off-season with a stellar display. The 2021 season not only saw Correa put up impressive offensive numbers but several defensive displays as well. And with the shortstop primed for free agency this off-season, he really could be set to break several records with his signing. And a return to the Houston Astros is well on the cards.

Carlos Correa – Returning to the Astros?

Carlos Correa has put himself in a position to succeed. Despite his reported demands being that of a contract like Corey Seager’s, he well possesses the skill to back such a contract. His reported expectations have been to sign onto a contract for 10 years worth more than $325 million and despite initial reports, a new suitor may be emerging. His own Houston Astros.

Journalist Ken Rosenthal recently reported that the Astros are reportedly still in the market for the shortstop and preparing to make another bid to land the superstar’s services. And as would with any other high-profile signing, the Astros camp seems excited to finalize the signing.

Wrote Rosenthal, “Players can’t stop talking about it.” And with the front office preparing the bid it could well mean that Correa could don his iconic #1 jersey in the Minute Maid again in 2022.

His new agent, Scott Boras certainly seemed to consider the incumbent Houston Astros a viable destination for the star in free agency; as he has previously stated too. But with the agent famously driving a hard bargain for his clients and landing them mega-deals; Correa too stands to benefit from it. And with the shortstop having won a World Series with the Astros already, staying just might cement his already established legacy a bit more.

But what do you think is the right move for Correa? If a viable offer comes in should he stay? Or must he still look to move to further his career?
