Kansas City Royals Bring in Minor League Star to Major League for Shortstop Needs

Shortstop Bobby Witt Jr. has been called to play in the Major League by the Kansas City Royals. The Royals broke down this news to him right before Opening Day 2022. Bobby Witt Jr. signed with the Royals in 2019 as the second overall pick in the MLB 2019 Draft.

Shortstop Bobby Witt Jr. is on a new journey with the Kansas City Royals as he was promoted to the Major League on April 5th, 2022. The Royals have seen the potential and a future in Witt Jr. His adventure with the Royals started in 2019 when he was signed as the second overall pick in the 2019 MLB Draft.
After signing with the Royals, Bobby Witt Jr. started playing in the Minor League with the Arizona League Royals. Then in 2021, Witt Jr. signed with the Northwest Arkansas Naturals. After three years in the Minor Leagues, Bobby Witt Jr is set to begin his roller coaster ride in the MLB.

On April 5th, 2022, Bobby Witt Jr. was invited to the conference room of the Kansas City Royals, where their manager J. J. Picollo, was present along with a few members of the management. Picollo started by expressing his gratitude towards Bobby and thanked him for being patient since 2019. He then congratulated Bobby for his journey with the Royals so far and promoted him to MLB.
J. J. Picollo began his brief speech by saying, “I know we’ve told you for a long time to be patient and to just trust everybody that the opportunity had to be right. The timing had to be right in order for you to be here. And it’s right. And so what this group is here about is to help hold you accountable, for you to just keep being you. You’re gonna have great successes and there are inevitably going to be some struggles. So just keep being you. And this group’s here to help you keep doing that. And you’re gonna need to help this group and everybody in that clubhouse. Yous should be very proud of yourself. Congratulations! Welcome to the Major Leagues!”
