“Leader in This Clubhouse”- Aaron Judge Praises Giancarlo Stanton After His Record-Breaking 350 Career Home Runs

New York Yankees star right fielder Giancarlo Stanton scored his 350th career home run on Wednesday against the Baltimore Orioles. Stanton became the 7th fastest player to get to 350 home runs in the MLB. The Yankees won the game 5-2, as fans left the Yankee Stadium with pride. Also, Aaron Judge had a few words to talk about his fellow teammate.

Building a 5-win streak, the New York Yankees defeated the Baltimore Orioles on Wednesday at the Yankee Stadium, New York. The game also saw an incredible performance by Yankees’ right fielder Giancarlo Stanton as he scored his 350th career home run in his MLB journey. He, his teammates, and the coach were happy about this incredible feat. Aaron Judge also lauded Stanton in a post-game interview.

Aaron Judge praises Giancarlo Stanton after the 350th career home run

In the 1st inning of the game, Giancarlo Stanton faced Orioles pitcher Tyler Wells. Wells pitched a 94 mph four-seam fastball to Stanton. Stanton hit the ball to right field as Ryan McKenna watched the ball go over his head and into the fans. Aaron Judge was the first player to celebrate his 350th.

“It’s pretty cool. When I began this journey, I didn’t really know what to expect or where I’d be. So it is a cool feat for me,” said Stanton when he was asked about the home run.

Even his teammate was overjoyed by Stanton’s record. Judge said“That guy, he’s a baller. He shows up every day to work. He continues to be a leader in this clubhouse and grows every single year I see him.”

Giancarlo Stanton has been delivering a lot for the New York Yankees since his signing in 2017. But injuries have been a big concern for him, as his last injury was in May 2021, when he was placed on a 10-day Injured List by the Yankees.

Overall, the Yankees are quite happy with their performance and their 5-game winning streak. One last game against the Orioles, and the Yankees will travel to Missouri as they face the Kansas City Royals. The Yankees have been competing with the Toronto Blue Jays for the first spot in the AL East Division. After the win against the Orioles, the Yankees lead the division with 12 wins and 6 losses.
