The MLB Lockout can stand to be lowest on most fans’ list of liked things at the moment. With the lockout now leading to canceled games too, the league’s games stand in question. After commissioner Rob Manfred pushed back opening day, the fans stand to lose baseball action as time goes on. But there may be an out yet. Miami Marlins president has set out the lockout hangs in the balance for one man. Super agent, Scott Boras.

David Samson took to Twitter to organize his thoughts and made some tall claims in a post on the micro-blogging site. Speaking about the Players Union’s rejection of a mediator, Samson expressed some pretty extreme views on whether there stood a chance for the lockout in MLB to end.

While most fans will be looking for anyway for live baseball action to mark its return, this certainly seems like a surprise option.

Samson tweets about the Lockout

Samson took to his personal account to tweet regarding the owner’s suggestion of hiring a federal mediator to resolve the lockout. He seems to say in his tweet that the only reason the players’ union rejected the idea was because of super-agent Scott Boras.

According to Samson, the reason that the players’ union rejected the idea could be that the idea doesn’t suit Boras.

Stating his reasoning, Samson wrote,” Because Boras is the mediator. And everyone knows that.”

He also stated that it seemed as though the lockout was fated to end only when one person had the final say so. “This lockout will end when Boras is ready for it to end,” he added.

While both sides would undoubtedly be wanting to maximize their financial potential, here, it becomes important to see how the situation will resolve itself. After some hasty negotiations before the last game cancellation deadline by the league on 28 February; the parties seem to have fewer points of disagreement going into the negotiations.

And while Commissioner Manfred has previously stated that lengthy negotiations could lead to another week of canceled fixtures; it is unlikely the players too would be on board for such a call.

But what do you think? Could the fated lockout be slated to end soon? Will we see any live baseball action this spring or is the lockout fated to eat away some more time from us?
