But his mother also played a crucial role in his success. A-Rod’s father left him when he was just 10-year-old. Despite all her difficulties, his mother raised him to become a  man.

Recently, in the latest Shark Tank video, Alex ‘A-Rod’ Rodriguez opened up about his mother. He called her a workhorse. He even recalled how his mother would work till late at night and still send him to school at seven in the morning.

“My dad left us when I was about ten. And then I was raised by a single mother here in Miami. My mother was a workhorse. She would wake up at seven drop us off at school, go be a secretary and then go serve tables at night. It was quite an inspiration to watch her grind it out every day,” said A-Rod.
