The lockout in Major League Baseball is now over 12 weeks old. And still, the owners and players have not agreed to the new collective bargaining agreement, thereby, further delaying the start of the new season. With the lockout still going on in MLB, no teams or free agents can negotiate for new contracts. However, Alex Wood of the San Francisco Giants suggested star free agent, Freddie Freeman, stay at the Braves and not join any National League West team.

As of now, there are some top players like Carlos Correa, Freddie Freeman, and Clayton Kershaw, who are out of their contracts. And like all baseball fans, they are also waiting for the lockout to be over so that they can negotiate their new contracts with MLB teams.

Notably, Alex Wood has played with Freddie Freeman at the Atlanta Braves between 2013 and 2015. However, after the 2015 season, Wood moved to another National League West team, Los Angeles Dodgers. There he played for five years and also won the World Series in the 2020 season. Currently, Wood plays for the San Francisco Giants, while on the other hand, Freeman is at the Braves since his debut in the 2021 season.

Taking to his Twitter, Wood took a dig at the Dodgers and said, he just hope Freeman keeps hitting homers for the Braves and not for anyone in NL West. The Giants star replied to a tweet that said, Freeman, is the last player to hit a home run in MLB.

“I just hope he keeps hitting homers for the Braves and not you know…anyone in the NL West,” said A-Wood. However, these are just speculations of an indirect attack which for all you know, might not have been intended as perceived.
