A-Rod said that when he saw Johnson owning an MLB team, he knew what to do next. And guess what? In 2021, A-Rod became a part-owner of the NBA side, the Minnesota Timberwolves.

“He gave me some incredible insight into a meeting that was supposed to be 30 minutes but went to about three and half hours…When I saw Magic do what he has done institutional with Starbucks, 24-hour-fitness, and others… I saw him go from the Lakers to the Dodgers. And I go, wait a minute, why can’t I go from MLB to NBA. And that’s exactly what happened,” said A-Rod.
