Major League Baseball is going through the owners’ lockout. Even after two and a half months of the work stoppage, the current scenario in MLB doesn’t look good. As the owners and players are yet to agree to the new CBA deal.

Notably, the main reason behind the conflict between the owners and players is that the players want a hike in their minimum salary and some other core economic issues. But the owners are not ready to agree to such demands. However, considering the current situation in MLB, former MLB player Dylan Cozens advised minor league players to stop letting the billionaires control their future. Cozens suggested the minor leaguers strike against the owners.

Recently, there were reports that MLB will propose the players’ association to eliminate hundreds of jobs of minor league players. The report said that instead of 180, now the owners want to reduce the roster of domestic minor league players to 150. Notably, this change will directly impact the hundreds of minor leaguers, as many of them will lose their jobs.

Taking this into account, former MLB player Dylan Cozens took to his Twitter and suggested minor leaguers strike against the owners for their better compensation. Cozens suggested minor leaguers think logically and unionize against billionaire owners to stop them from exploiting their dreams. He said the values that minor leaguers provide to any MLB team are much bigger compared to their compensation.

“Stop letting billionaire owners exploit your emotions/dreams and think logically. Most of you will never make it. Even if you do make it, playing in the big leagues doesn’t hold much value on a resume,” Cozens said. “It really isn’t worth it unless you will be making life-changing money. You are missing out on so many priceless life experiences (birthdays, weddings, funerals, etc.) and a lot of valuable work experience. The value you provide is more than you are being compensated for.”

Cozens even went on to criticize the big leaguers and said that most of them don’t really care about minor leaguers. He said it’s “pretty funny” to hear a guy signed for $300 million.
