Alex ‘A-Rod’ Rodriguez has had one of the greatest MLB careers in history. In his 23-year journey in the MLB, he has played for the Seattle Mariners, the Texas Rangers, and then the New York Yankees. After baseball, A-Rod went on into the business world and expanded his expertise. He is also a co-owner of the NBA team, Minnesota Timberwolves.

The sports reporter, Shams Charania, recently interviewed entrepreneur Marc Lore, businessman, Glen Taylor, and Alex ‘A-Rod’ Rodriguez. Marc Lore and A-Rod are the co-owners of the Minnesota Timberwolves, whereas Glen Taylor is a former member of the Minnesota State Senate. Shams Charania talked about various topics mostly related to basketball 3 of them. Charania asked A-Rod about how there is a simple change in today’s sports.

“When you look at the scalp of my career, in a league where the average career is five and a half years, I played for about 23. I’m incredibly grateful for that. Overall there were some incredible highs and very dark moments. I get an opportunity to share my failures and lessons learned,” stated A-Rod during the interview.

He then moved on to give vital advice to the new generation of sports players.

A-Rod said, “Me and Marc (Lore) have been talking to the players about the importance of saving money, taking care of your family, and about life after basketball.”

He then compared today’s sports world with his. “But these kids have so much harder today. I don’t think I could’ve played in this tournament. Twitter, social media, these kids have a lot to deal with. They don’t wanna be good basketball players. They wanna be good dressers, good investors, and vocal on social issues. We were just ballplayers,” said A-Rod.
