This New York Yankees Prospect Is Being Compared To Rams Star Aaron Donald By Teammates

Jasson Dominguez is only 19, but his pictures may fool you. ‘The Martian’, nicknamed for his out of this world ability has seemingly put on a tremendous amount of muscle mass ever since his induction with the New York Yankees in 2019. And with him putting on so much mass, his teammates seem to be enjoying themselves finding a new nickname for the young outfielder. And cashing in on fame from the Super Bowl, Dominguez has been recently anointed.

Dominguez showed some serious bulk-up ever since he was signed. Despite only turning 19 recently, the Dominican national looks jacked. Gaining the nickname, the “mini Aaron Donald”. The defensive tackle for the Los Angeles Rams sounds like an unfair comparison until you see the two side-by-side. The New York Yankees prospect however, plays a sport that requires far more agility and speed than his NFL counterpart so Dominguez might want to take this with a pinch of salt.

Jasson Dominguez has been called mini-Aaron Donald in jest by his teammates while at training camp in Florida. The New York Yankees prospect has put on some sheer mass that has called for the comparison from his teammates. And while looking to the season ahead, it certainly does not seem like Dominguez would mind. Considering the LA Rams’ Super Bowl victory and the defensive tackle’s contributions, Dominguez certainly has big shoes to fill.

Dominguez played out the 2021 season in Lower A Tampa after starting in rookie ball. Many observes his accent; and some have expressed that his offensive output is slightly lacking at present. Spending time with Yankees affiliates however will only shorten his learning curve.

The ingredients are all there. Dominguez is a multiple tool player with speed and power in droves. And spending time developing in Lower A Tampa will only improve his game ability. With several pundits charting him as a central fielder, some have also postulated that he may need to move to left field if he displays a drop in his mobility.
