The 2022 off-season is the tale of contrasting quantities. While signings are waiting to happen, the lockout prevents those from happening. And with superstar shortstop Carlos Correa a free agent too, this could not get any more suspenseful. The Bronx Bombers’ roster seems to be set for an upgrade in 2o22; free agent Correa could well be part of the project in New York.

Correa has done the best he can to set himself up for a mega-deal come to his free agency. Showcasing monster defensive stats; Correa has been a solid contributor from home plate too. The Houston Astros, his current team, will be eager to get him to stay in the Minute Maid Park, but with his growing financial ambitions; it seems only a few teams in the league will be able to fulfill the shortstop’s expectations.

However, with the financial situation working itself out a bit more clearly over the lockout, the Yankees’ interest may be softening.

The free-agent shortstops that now remain will likely be looking for a contract in the region established by Seager.
