Notably, earlier on March 19, Carlos Correa signed a short-term deal with the Minnesota Twins, after his long stint with the Houston Astros. This move by the superstar shortstop surprised the entire baseball world.

Meanwhile, in a spring training game on Tuesday, the Twins shortstop smashed his first home run. And given his capabilities to hit the ball, fans will see a lot more such hits in the regular season starting on April 7.

In his first outing as a Twins player, Correa was not able to do much with the bat against the Boston Red Sox. However, in the Tuesday spring training game against the Tampa Bay Rays, Correa smashed his first home run as a Twins player. He sent the ball out of the field. However, despite his efforts, the Twins lost the game 4-2 to the Rays.

When free agency resumed, no one would have imagined that a top player like Correa will end up in Minnesota. But that is exactly what happened. Earlier this month, Correa was heavily rumored with some heavyweights in the league, such as the New York Yankees and Chicago Cubs.

But after playing for over seven years for the Houston Astros, the superstar shortstop signed a three-year contract worth $105.3Million with the Minnesota Twins. Correa’s deal with the Twins includes multiple opt-outs too.
