The current free agency has been one of the craziest in MLB history. Earlier this week, the New York Yankees shocked everyone by acquiring Josh Donaldson from the Minnesota Twins in a five-player trade.

Notably, Donaldson and the Yankees pitcher Gerrit Cole do not have a great history in the past. And it was a major concern for the Yankees fans that how the two will play in the same team. But seems like everything is good between Cole and Donaldson.

Gerrit Cole will be playing along with his previous season’s rival Josh Donaldson. Notably, during the 2021 season, he heavily criticized Cole for his spin rate start in the league. And since then the two players haven’t liked each other even a bit.

And after facing a few pitches from Cole, Donaldson finally hit a ball. As per Marly Rivera of ESPN, after the bullpens, Donaldson said, “At least I touched it.”

Earlier on Saturday, Donaldson also made his spring training debut for the Yankees against the Baltimore Orioles. He also hit his first home run as a Yankees player in the match. Now, when the new season is just a few days away, the chemistry between Donaldson and Cole is already looking great. And that is what the Yankees fans would expect from them.
