Just 12 days more and baseball will finally be back in ballparks. Even before the start of the 2022 season, almost every top MLB side is already looking like a strong contender for the World Series title, except the New York Yankees.

Notably, after a poor performance in the 2021 season, the Yankees didn’t have a good free agency too. However, Joey Gallo doesn’t seem to be affected by the current scenario of The Bronx Bombers.

A two-time All-Star with a pair of Gold Gloves on his resume, Joey Gallo has been playing for the Yankees since the last season. And ever since coming to the Yankees, Gallo has become an integral part of the squad. Given that he has played for over seven years in Major League Baseball, Gallo is expected to have a good season in 2022 for the Yankees.

Well, it is no secret that the current free agency has been a disappointing one for the Yankees. They failed to lure some of the top free agents like Carlos Correa, Freddie Freeman, and Trevor Story and ended up losing them to their rival teams.

Even the Yankees management is struggling to extend Aaron Judge’s contract. Notably, Judge is in the last year of his contract. And if the two parties do agree to the renewal, then Judge will be a free agent after the 2022 season. Now, with an average roster for the 2022 season, it’ll not be easy for the Yankees to compete with the heavyweights of the league.
