College-level baseball games have been on a different level this season. Earlier this year, when MLB was in a lockout, these games provided the best entertainment for any baseball fan. Even now, when Major League Baseball is up and running, some of these college/university-level baseball games are serving better entertainment than the big league games.

There have been multiple occasions in 2022, where these teams have shown some stunning gameplay in the ballpark that left the fans in awe. And probably this is the main reason fans find these games more attractive than some of the MLB games.

Virginia Baseball players display rare gameplay amidst the 2022 MLB season

Established in 1889, The Virginia Cavaliers Baseball team represents the University of Virginia in NCAA Division I college baseball. The current season is not going so well for the UVA. Currently, they are sitting at No. 8 on the points table. However, their unique triple-play against the Panthers on Sunday has become a talking point in the baseball world.

On Sunday, while playing in the fifth inning against the Panthers, Virginia turned a triple-play to escape bases full loaded. As per Virginia Sports, this was the first triple play by UVA since the 2004 season.

Though this rare game was not enough for the Virginia Baseball to win the game, the Pittsburgh clinched a 4-1 win over the UVA. It was their fourth straight series victory against the UVA.
