Even Yale’s head coach, John Stuper, was in awe of the performance of the Bulldogs’ catcher. According to CBS Sports, Stuper said that he had no words to describe Gehri’s hitting. Yale’s head expressed how incredibly proud he was of Gehri.

“Hard to come up with words to describe Jake Gehri’s performance,” said John Stuper. “It’s no secret he’s been struggling a bit at the plate. But I’m incredibly proud of the way he has not let his offensive struggles affect his catching… But he had a historic day at the plate today. Wow.”
