It’s already been close to five years since the Houston Astros scandal in the 2017 season. But even now, no one has forgiven them for their dirty work in the games. And why would anyone forgive them? Because they still take pride in their championship win in the 2017 season.

However, recently former Astros player has opened up about the 2017 scandal and admitted his mistake. Nearly after five years of the incident, the 44-years-old MLB veteran explained his role in the Astros’ 2017 scandal.

Notably, the same year, the Houston Astros went on to win the World Series. And many people still believe that their sign-stealing scandal helped them win the title. While till date, not a single Astros player has taken responsibility for their participation in the 2017 scandal.

The 2017 season has to be one of the most embarrassing years in Major League Baseball history. The Houston Astros cheated every MLB side with their sign-stealing scandal. Carlos Beltran was also a part of that Astros squad. And recently, he openly accepted that they were wrong.

Talking to Michael Kay of YES Network, Beltran admitted they did cross the line. While he also revealed that even the Astros organization didn’t ask them to stop because it was working out for them.

“Yes, we did cross the line…,” said Carlos Beltran. “Looking back today, we were wrong. I wish I would’ve asked more questions about what we were doing…Nobody really said anything. We’re winning, you know, and some days our system really worked. Some days (it) didn’t really work.”

Further, Beltran also accepted that their 2017 World Series title is tainted, as it was not fair to other teams. “What we did, and we all have taken responsibility. And at some point, we all have shown remorse about what we did,” added Beltran.

After so many years, Beltran is the first-ever Astros player to accept his fault. Because, even after MLB’s investigation, neither the Houston Astros nor their players apologized for that scandal.
