The field of martial art is synonymous with Bruce Lee. His on-screen energy made way for a successful near-perfect acting career. To put a cherry on top, he personified the character of a father in real life even better. In fact, he had two children with Linda Lee Cadwell—Brandon Lee and Shannon Lee. With Chinese ancestral roots, his parenting skills were not always in line with that of Americans. Recently, a fan shared a post that had Lee’s wise words concerning parenting principles.

Bruce Lee believes in passing Knowledge rather than material assets

A page named Batdad shared Lee’s message on Facebook and captioned it with, “Wise words to start off the new year.” Following were the wise words shared by the Little Phoenix, “Instead of buying your children all the things you never had, you should teach them all the things you were never taught. Material wears out but Knowledge stays.”

To this post, fans gave mixed reviews. Some scoffed at his advice saying, “How do I teach someone something I was never taught?”, “Yes, but you don’t always need to choose one or the other. You can teach your kids what you weren’t taught AND give them things you weren’t given.”, and ” … if you can do both, then do both.”

The Enter the Dragon actor could not spend much time with children owing to his busy schedule and untimely death. In fact, his children were eight and four years old when Lee died. His son Brandon Lee tried to carry on with his legacy but it was an accident that claimed his life.
